Land: Forests and Trees

land-forest-and-trees

In a general sense, everyone knows how important forests and trees are for human beings. Plants produce approximately half the oxygen on the planet. Every other breath comes from the forests, trees, and other plants of the world. Forests, like the Amazon rainforest, are home to some of the most diverse ecosystems on Earth. They teem with vibrantly colored birds, howling mammals, whirring insects, and dense foliage.

Scientific studies have shown how urban areas with more trees experience lower crime rates. People surrounded by trees and foliage are, on average, more mentally healthy. Trees help cool hot, concrete-locked cities and filter airborne pollutants. Visitors will be able to learn about the fascinating science of trees, forests, and how they green our world in more ways than one. There will also be opportunities to plant trees, take home saplings, and become a speaker for the trees.
