DALLAS (April 10, 2017) – Earth Day Texas is investing in a greener journey by helping the country’s transportation system become more sustainable. In partnership with National Alternative Fuel Vehicle (AFV) Day Odyssey, coordinated by the National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium (NAFTC), Earth Day Texas in conjunction with the Dallas-Fort Worth Clean Cities Coalition, will host the Odyssey national kick-off and present the first AFV Summit on April 20, as part of its annual event.
National AFV Day Odyssey is the largest, nationwide event conducted to educate the public about the importance of alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles, and to promote their widespread adoption. From electric cars to natural gas-powered vehicles, attendees can learn more about clean-powered, alternative fuel vehicles. The kick-off will serve as the official launch for the many Odyssey events being held across the United States and around the world.
“The NAFTC is thrilled to partner with Earth Day Texas and the Dallas-Fort Worth Clean Cities to conduct this year’s National Alternative Fuel Vehicle Day Odyssey kickoff event and the first AFV Summit at Earth Day Texas,” said Judy Moore, national AFV Day Odyssey coordinator and NAFTC assistant director of communications & outreach. “Thanks to this partnership, Odyssey’s message about the importance of cleaner, domestically fueled transportation options will reach thousands in the Dallas area and beyond.”
At this year’s first AFV Summit, attendees will have the unique opportunity to see and touch more than 50 alternative fuel vehicles, attend numerous sessions and workshops, and speak directly with dozens of alternative fuel vehicle experts. Additionally, three panels of experts will discuss clean transportation choices using fuels produced in the United States, which will drive growth in the economy and help make the Earth a cleaner, healthier, and more prosperous place to live.
